This Vehicle Bill of Sale is made effective as of 25 April 2026. For good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which are hereby acknowledged, James T. O'Brien (the "Seller") hereby sells, transfers, and conveys to Emma L. Watson (the "Buyer") all right, title, and interest in and to the motor vehicle described herein.
1.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION
The Seller hereby sells and transfers to the Buyer the following motor vehicle (the "Vehicle"): 2020 Toyota Camry (Silver), Vehicle Identification Number (VIN): JTDBL40E409012345, Registration Number: NSW ABC123. The VIN is a 17-character identifier unique to the Vehicle and can be verified on the dashboard, the driver's door frame, or the vehicle registration certificate.

PURCHASE PRICE AND PAYMENT
The total purchase price for the Vehicle is 28,500.00 AUD, payable by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). The Seller acknowledges receipt of the full purchase price. The parties confirm that this consideration is fair and adequate and reflects the arm's-length nature of this transaction.

ODOMETER DISCLOSURE
The Seller hereby certifies that the odometer reading of the Vehicle at the time of sale is 54,200 km. To the best of the Seller's knowledge and belief, this reading accurately reflects the actual distance the Vehicle has been driven. The Seller has not tampered with, altered, disconnected, or reset the odometer. Falsifying odometer readings may constitute an offence under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)) and applicable state road transport legislation.

PERSONAL PROPERTY SECURITIES REGISTER (PPSR)
The Seller warrants that a search of the Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR) at ppsr.gov.au has been conducted and the Vehicle is free from any registered security interests, encumbrances, or claims under the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) (PPSA). The Buyer is strongly advised to conduct an independent PPSR search before completing this purchase, as purchasing a vehicle with an existing security interest may result in the Buyer acquiring subject to that interest (PPSA s. 163).

TITLE AND ABSENCE OF ENCUMBRANCES
The Seller represents and warrants that: (a) the Seller is the lawful registered owner of the Vehicle as shown on the vehicle registration; (b) the Seller has full right, power, and authority to sell and transfer the Vehicle; (c) the Vehicle is free and clear of all liens, charges, security interests, encumbrances, and claims of any kind, including any security interest registered under the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth); and (d) the Seller will indemnify and defend the Buyer's title against all lawful claims.

AS-IS CONDITION
This is a private sale between individuals. The Vehicle is sold "AS-IS, WHERE-IS" without any representation, warranty, or guarantee of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for purpose, roadworthiness, or freedom from defects. The Buyer acknowledges having had the opportunity to inspect the Vehicle and accepts it in its current condition. Note: The statutory consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth), ss. 54–64, apply only to sales by businesses or traders in trade or commerce — they do not apply to private sales between individuals.
7.
TRANSFER OF REGISTRATION
Upon execution of this Bill of Sale and receipt of the full purchase price, all right, title, and interest in the Vehicle shall transfer absolutely from the Seller to the Buyer. The Buyer is solely responsible for: (a) transferring the vehicle registration with Service NSW within the period required by state law; (b) obtaining compulsory third party (CTP) insurance before operating the Vehicle; and (c) paying any applicable transfer fees and stamp duty. The Seller shall provide a signed transfer of registration form and any other documentation required by Service NSW.
8.
STAMP DUTY ON VEHICLE TRANSFER
The Buyer acknowledges that stamp duty (motor vehicle duty) is payable on the transfer of the Vehicle in New South Wales. In New South Wales, motor vehicle duty is calculated at 3% of the market value or purchase price (whichever is greater) for passenger vehicles under AUD 45,000. Rates vary by state and vehicle type. The Buyer is solely responsible for ascertaining and paying any applicable stamp duty to the relevant state revenue authority.
9.
GOVERNING LAW
This Vehicle Bill of Sale shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New South Wales and the applicable laws of the Commonwealth of Australia, including the Australian Consumer Law and the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth). The parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
10.
GENERAL PROVISIONS
Entire Agreement: This Bill of Sale constitutes the entire agreement between the parties with respect to the purchase and sale of the Vehicle and supersedes all prior negotiations, representations, and understandings. Amendment: No amendment shall be valid unless made in writing and signed by both parties. Severability: If any provision is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. Electronic Execution: This Bill of Sale may be signed electronically, which shall be valid and enforceable under the Electronic Transactions Act 1999 (Cth) and equivalent state legislation.

State Registration Transfer
Each state requires registration to be transferred into the buyer's name within a specified time — 14 days in NSW (section 10 of the Road Transport Act 2013 (NSW)), Victoria, and Queensland; 7 days in Western Australia. Transfer typically requires the transfer form, proof of identity, payment of motor vehicle duty under the state Duties Act, and (in some states) a current roadworthy or safety certificate.
Roadworthy/Safety Certificate
Victoria (Roadworthy Certificate — VicRoads), Queensland (Safety Certificate — Transport and Main Roads), ACT, and the Northern Territory require a current roadworthy/safety certificate for registered vehicle transfers. NSW, Western Australia, South Australia, and Tasmania do not generally require one for like-for-like transfers but require pink slips for re-registration.
Personal Property Securities Register (PPSR)
Before buying a used vehicle, a PPSR search under the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (Cth) is strongly recommended. A search reveals any registered security interest (such as finance owing).
